What is the Race?

The Mayo School of Health Sciences' Students in Physical Therapy present the 4th annual Race for Research. This spring, PT students nationwide will join efforts in the Marquette Challenge, a call to raise money for research in the field of physical therapy. In past years, these dedicated students have raised as much as $244,110 annually. All proceeds are donated to the Foundation for Physical therapy who aims to improve patient care by funding scientifically based and clinically relevant physical therapy research. This year, the Mayo students will again take part in this challenge by putting on a 5k run/walk through Rochester's downtown trails. Bring your friends and family and come on out to join with students and other community members in this Race for Research!

Marquette Challenge

The Marquette Challenge was initiated by PT students at Marquette University in 1989 as a fundraising effort to support physical therapy research through the American Physical Therapy Association's Foundation for Physical Therapy. Each year the winning school to raise the most money shares the name for the following year. This past year, the University of Miami was the winner. The Mayo Clinic PT program was honored to receive "Honorable Mention" for the amount of money raised for the 3rd year in a row. In previous years, students have also earned the "Most Successful Newcomer" award.
